My Favorite Contingent and Winners in 2011 Diyandi Festival Street Dancing Held at Anahao Amphi Theater

If you’re hometown is Iligan City then you will be acquainted to the incoming events while fiesta is fast approaching. Like any places in the Philippines, Iligan City is ranked number 8 to the highly urbanized city all-over Philippines. By the way, have you witnessed the Diyandi festival here in Iligan City? It’s fun and entertaining.

While fiesta is forthcoming, there are many activities to be witnessed such as street dancing, cooking Lechon, entire Barangay parade, beauty pageant, games and many more. Luckily, all winners have corresponding awards to bring home.

One of the exciting plus entertaining events is the Diyandi festival-- street dancing. Before, there are many contingents’ who are vying the trophy as the champion as well as the runner ups. As I could still remember, there are 10 to 13 contingents to compete the champion award way back to the year 2010.

But now there are only 5 contingents compete to each other. They are from Kauswagan, Lanao Del Norte; Tribu Kiwalan; San Lorenzo Elementary School,  Balabagan, Lanao del Sur; Barangay Dalipuga and the last one is tribu Maghusa from Cagayan de Oro City.

The program finally started at exactly 9 in the morning with the host with bedroom voice Mr. Body Froy dated September 27, 2011 and ends until 11 in the morning. The annual town fiesta is September 29, 2011. This day will be enjoyable since most of the people will celebrate by preparing foods and invite people though people are experiencing too much crisis. Most people will prepare a budget for the town fiesta. With support of the government city officials, Diyandi Street dancing had successfully done with the top 3 winners. The two contingent who did not win has a consolation price of 20,000 pesos. Champion will receive 200,000 thousand; the first price will receive 150,000; the second price will receive 100,000.

The five contingents have showed interesting views as well as performances. Yes, all of the five contingents exerted effort just to win the title and the big trophy as the champion of 2011 Diyandi festival street dancing.  As one of the audience of that live show, I was totally impressed to all of them because they have performed well though there are some little mistakes which can’t be avoided.  To summarize all, the performance to all five contingents was really amazing.
My favorite contingent that really captures my attention was come from tribu Kiwalan. I really like the meaning of their entire show for the reason that it really fits the theme as fiesta as well as their cultural dances. As I watched tribu Kiwalan, I did really enjoy and keep on laughing because there’s a part of their performances which they had executed the cockfighting or widely known as “sabong” in the Philippines.

Aside from that, they also executed cooking using big carajay which really fit during fiesta celebration. People will prepare different kinds of Filipino foods though; tribu Kiwalan is not the champion but my heart beats to them. Congratulation Tribu Kiwalan for winning second price of 2011 Diyandi festival.

The winners of the entire Diyandi festival street dancing 2011: Best in San Miguel attire goes to contingent number 1(From Kauswagan, Lanao Del Norte); Best in costume goes to contingent number 1;
Second runner up goes to contingent number 2 (From tribu Kiwalan); First runner up goes to contingent number 1 from Kauswagan; and the champion goes to contingent number 3 (From Balabagan, Lanao Del Sur). Among the five contingents, contingent number 3 was proclaiming to be the winner or the 2011 champion of Diyandi street dancing. In fact, they come from elementary levels. They perform perfectly though they are just kids. They execute simultaneously. With their angel voice plus snappy movements makes them as the champion of the Diyandi festival.

Viva Senior San Miguel 2011...Sidlak Iligan....
